Robot Nixon 06:10
In the deep dark depths of the city of sound Where the strays are getting lost looking to be found Desperation littered the ground In the stillborn house with the yellow light There lied a broken little boy looking for a fight But the timing wasn't right So he turned his head and sighed, bathing in his shame When he stared upon the idol in the picture frame Getting tired of his game The child longed for acceptance, but he longed in vain Because his dreams had left him tattered, rusting in the rain Little Nixon was in pain So he cried, "Where do you go when nobody knows The pain that you feel, the life that you chose? Who can you trust when your dreams bite the dust When nobody wants you 'round, when life is unjust?" Well Nixon saw red while his heart was blue 'Cause there might have been a day when his path was true A day he never knew Well, he hung around the scene with a heart so keen But he was just another pawn to the King and the Queen An outcast, he had been And he kept his head down but he spoke too soon When the King had come around, he sang his lonesome tune But his eyes were glued to the moon So the kid went home with a weight on his back It was the burden of his sorrows that exposed the cracks Of a canvas painted black So he screamed, "Where do you go when nobody knows The pain that you feel, the life that you chose? Who can you trust when your dreams bite the dust When nobody wants you 'round, when life is unjust?" Well Nixon cleared his mind, left his shackles and chains Married a girl, and built a home on the plains He buried his past and chose a life of peace But his mind relapsed, put him ill at ease The day he heard that Raygun's on the loose A hundred foot man, with a killer excuse Unbound by law with a penchant for crime It was only a matter of time The feds came down, oh the rumours they heard A peaceful little man with a vengeance incurred They showed up at his door with a mecha-suit They said, "Hey little Nixon, you know what to do" Indecision wrought his mangled mind Unwelcome visions of a killing kind Memories flashed right before his eyes Blinded by his rage, he cried Oh, he cried, "Where do you go when nobody knows The pain that you feel, the life that you chose? Who can you trust when your dreams bite the dust When nobody wants you 'round, when life is unjust?"

Not a cloud in the sky as the birds sang their morning wake up call The loud crunch of leaves underfoot as the cool breeze ushered in the fall We arrived at the clearing off the lake in the heart of the pines And put up our makeshift little homes and planned our trip in the sunshine We were long overdue for a fade into obscurity Hell, we worked our fingers to the bone to create a false sense of security The dark of the night fell like a blanket on the sky The crackle and hiss of the fire played games with the lonely wolves' cries We'd lug our equipment to the woods and bore ourselves with dreams of discovery And keep entertained by the squirrels and counting the birds in the trees But every crack of a branch sent shivers down our spines Oh by the end of the night we had pictures of our own demise As the stars lit the sky pounding footsteps creeping up our backs The furry silhouette against the moon stopped us dead in our tracks And when the beast reared its head the adrenaline pumped through our veins So we turned around and ran arms flailing into the pouring rain As we fled into the night The beast looked on and sighed Another friend abandoned in fright No matter how hard he tried And he said, "Someone to share, one love to hold Another whose wounds I'll mend All I want is to be loved All I want is a friend"

There once was a boy named Ronald, grew up in a mining town Breathed puffs of smoke, his parents were broke but he knew how to get around Young Ronald was so handsome, got all the girls in school But deep inside, a lonely soul did hide, and he bore it to be cool Yes he bore it to be cool Well one day little Ronald found a meaning for his life A scene of folks who understood his struggle and his strife A family who held the key to unlock his inner sin He said let the good times and the partying begin So Ronald left his parents and his boring life behind To rise above the visions of the kingdom in his mind From his throne he ruled his people, his land grew every day But amongst the gains, the fact remains that nothing gold can stay Nothing gold can stay One day Ronald's kingdom fell and his people went away The love and joy that he once felt was conquered by dismay Without his scene, his hopes and dreams left him to die alone He said let my lifeless body cast the final stone So Ronald took his leave and found the nearest toxic dump He shed a tear, embraced his fears and took one final jump As he landed in his deathbed, consumed by neon green A change occurred but no one heard his desperate cries and screams No one heard his cries or screams Ronald grew a hundred feet, his eyes grew crystal clear He towered above all that he loved and all he once held dear Cries of vengeance filled the air the terror had begun He said feel the wrath of Ronald Raygun There once was a king from a mining town Who gave his life away when his kingdom crumbled down Now he roams the earth shooting lasers from his eyes A weapon of the government to rid the land of spies But deep in his heart the guilt he felt was strong Buried in his soul there was a longing to belong He realized he'd never feel the love that he once knew So he just keeps on killing, it's all that he can do Oh he just keeps on killing, it's all that he can do

Frustration Your eyes are cold, your heart is steel, and I can feel the repercussions of your charm Oh, frustration Just look at how quickly things can take turns for the worst and all the hurting and the harm Oh, the anger Bury your broken hearts, your shattered dreams and give it up, 'cause love is a losing game Oh, the anger I'm gnawed to the bone, I'm sick and tired of giving all my love and taking all the blame All the lies that you have spun Won't make it any better I'll give you what you want And we can finally be together Oh, sorrow Why are you always lurkin' around and hiding out in every corner of my mind Oh, sorrow What if I told you nobody wants you hangin' 'round and wasting all my precious time Oh, the burden The burden of being all alone and knowing everybody else has got a plan Oh, this burden This burden's been weighing me down and breaking every fragile bone this body can withstand Oh, and ain't it bittersweet The joy, the deceit I'm as lonely as can be... In the night (a-ooh shalalala) This cold winter's night (a-ooh shalalala) We will fight (a-ooh shalalala) We'll fight the good fight (a-ooh shalalala) 'Till we see (a-ooh shalalala) 'Till we see that we're one and the same (a-ooh shalalala) And this is right (a-ooh shalalala) It's wrong but it's right (a-ooh shalalala) And the plight (a-ooh shalalala) It's far but not quite (a-ooh shalalala) Out of sight (a-ooh shalalala) So why does this feel so damn right (a-ooh shalalala) Why must I kill this sasquatch (I just want a friend to hold me in the night) Why must I kill this tranquil sasquatch (Our love will never end, it'll stand the test of time) We will walk this forest ground, hand in hand, hand in hand, you and me, we were meant to be And though these winds are harsh, our love is strong when I look into your eyes My heart is heavy, knees are weak When I look up above I once was lost, but now I'm found Darling, I'm gunning for love

Oh mother, where did the time go now Oh father, if only you could see me now Just a broken little boy looking for a fight Well I found a home and now I'm looking for the light Oh mother, where did the time go now Poor child, ignorance'll foster pain Poor child, what have you got to gain Won't you listen to me, they'll put you in your place There ain't never been a winner in a sinner's race Oh child, ignorance'll foster pain Ain't nothing wrong The years have been a bit unkind It's just been so long I need a little peace of mind Don't you mind Oh brother, everyone knows your game Oh sister, bathe in the glow of shame You know if you were the skies, well baby I was the seas Now you're sticking in my mind like a killer disease Oh brother, everyone knows your game Tell you what's wrong The years have been a bit unkind It's just been so long I need a little peace of mind Mother, I'm just so lost So find me where the birds don't sing And hide me underneath your wing Tell me all the lies I never lived All the pain I've caused 'Cause don't you know I'm just a broken little boy looking for a fight So won't you find me a home and guide me towards the light Well, I never had the chance to bury day old hate And now I'm living in the past, I can feel the weight Oh, mother, where did the time go now Oh, mother

Oh the darkened sky is creeping up upon the setting sun This land will soon be lost among the creatures from the shadows of the deep No bedside fable left unread, no song will go unsung The time has come to rest your eyes, we'll conquer lasting worries in our sleep The little ones have cast aside their visions for a dream We'll lock the doors and pray for every restless soul still waiting to be found The ground below is shaking, air is begging for a scream In the distance are the shadows of the harbingers of mind and fate unbound In the light, I can see (Cold and lonely) Oh so bright, the decree Once foretold (Crooked story) You will fight for your love You will fight for his blood In the night, can you see (Weak mind come undone) For the right, for the free For the bold (Oh, the lies you've spun) For every love untold As the breath flew from her lungs, the creature smiled and sighed While high above a downpour fell from deep in giants eyes He said "don't lose hope, we must rejoice, the secret was ours in the end We found the guiding light of love, I finally found a friend"

You have seen a million faces You have traveled far and wide You have been in God's good graces And you've played the devil's bride Now you have lost the love of another Oh, in this light, you're so naive Oh the stories I've been writing In the mind of misery Can you see the words inviting To the shroud of mystery Now I am blinded, damned to insanity Show me the light, oh beacon of suffering Won't you bury souls departed From your heart into the ground And brave the lands uncharted In your brilliant mind, so sound Into the deep, dark, depths of what you've made of me Into the end, foretold in prophecy Deceiver, growing old And your heart shivers cold The wound in your chest, from pain untold Believe her, you are weak In the mind, fear the meek The one you have cursed, too scared to speak And now it is clear, my dear, the mind and the will, in fear When you ran from yourself, from the depths of your hell, did you run from us all (Hold your tongue and count your blessings One for every love left buried) And I have been down, blood-scarred, where no one has known, so far But I've lived to find her body, her mind, when love is the call (Rest your eyes and mend the weary Bide your time the end is nearing) I will haunt your dreams (Haunted, broken dreams) Sewn-shut eyes will see (Told in prophecy) Hold your tongue and count your blessings One for every love left buried Rest your eyes and mend the weary Bide your time the end is nearing I will haunt your dreams Sewn-shut eyes will see In the end, you will fall, in the light curse us all No one will hear you, no one believes you In the end, you will fall, in the light curse us all Love will precede you, death will deceive you
